From 2003-2006, Zilla was a member of the experimental hip hop group Crooked Soul alongside acclaimed dubstep/grime artist Starkey, DJ Arkive and MC Johnny Darko. In February ’06, the group released their LP Break Bread & Nails.
In 2004, he partnered with Nico the Beast to form the duo Clean Guns. In 2006, he created the indie powerhouse Beat Garden Entertainment with Nico and Octavius “Big O” Mitchell.
Beat Garden released LPs, EPs, and mixtapes from Clean Guns, Nico the Beast, Zilla Rocca, Yadibox.com, Curly Castro and the 5 O’Clock Shadowboxers.
In 2008, Zilla Rocca partnered with Seattle-based producer and singer/songwriter Douglas Martin to form the critically acclaimed noir-hop outfit 5 O’Clock Shadowboxers.
Zilla Rocca currently lives in Philadelphia and is a lifelong Philadelphian. He is the now the sole propietor of Three Dollar Pistol Music. Do not try to convince him to become a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles or Philadelphia Phillies.
